Switch has been along for the ride from the beginning. I can say without question that Paul is as real as they come. Simple as that.

Paul saw our vision before other venture investors. He got it when others didn’t. So he ended up being one of our first believers—there for us from the beginning right up to our acquisition.

We are Switch

A seed-stage venture fund betting on inspiring people with big ideas. We invest early, before those big visions are obvious to everyone else, and we partner with founders to provide the time, resources, and support they need.

We take the partnership with founders seriously. We believe that being great partners is what makes us great investors. Partners first, investors second—always.

VCs in my experience aren’t relatable or empathetic, especially for female founders. Switch always treats me as a human, not a transaction.

EXITS

I moved to California to do two things: play in the mountains and work with startups. I am happy to report that I still enjoy doing both of those things. I came here with McKinsey, a job that taught me how big tech looks and works. But I’m more motivated by building something from the start, so I left McKinsey to build and run business teams at AppDirect during one of their first financings. In my time at AppDirect, we scaled twenty-fold.

I started Switch to invest in the most exciting founders at the earliest stages. I make bets of conviction. I want to help startups hit escape velocity and build companies that matter. It’s a pretty cool job.

When not working with startups, I can be found hanging with my wife and two rambunctious boys, probably in a tent.

I went to Yale to become a fiction writer, but accidentally graduated with a BA in economics and a job offer from Bain. After accompanying my best friend as she shopped for wedding dresses, I became obsessed with the broken, underserved bridal market and wrote my admissions essay to Stanford’s GSB on my wedding dress startup idea. I spent the next five years building that bridal business, Floravere.

Switch was one of my earliest seed investors, and I was so impressed by Paul’s founder-first approach that I eventually made the leap from portfolio to the fund. I became a VC to be the kind of investor I wanted when I was a founder.

Outside of work, I’m usually roaming farmers markets in LA with my husband and two daughters, and I still aspire to one day write the next great young adult novel.

“That will never work.” Went the refrain from most prospective investors when I pitched them on the idea of my last startup, The Athletic. Backed by Switch, my co-founder and I ignored the skeptics and built one of the most iconic brands in sports media and a product that is enjoyed by millions of paying subscribers every day.

Post acquisition (by The New York Times), I’m excited to partner with Switch again. This time around, I’ll meet founders at the beginning of their own journey, support the existing portfolio of amazing companies, and help build the Switch brand and network.

Based in Los Angeles, I’m an avid sports fan, wannabe Jeopardy! contestant, crossword addict, born-again golf guy, and a new dad.

My love for mathematics led me to pursue applied mathematics at IIT Roorkee in India. After working at IBM, Deutsche Bank and Groupon in India, I moved to New York to continue my mathematics journey with a masters degree in data science at Columbia University. My next adventure came as a four-year stint at Spotify, building forecasting models, creating experimentation strategies, and understanding user behavior on voice-based products.

I longed to be closer to family and friends, and so moved back to India. In my data science role at Switch, we use AI to systematically boost our investing efforts, and it’s the perfect balance for me between tech and product.

Outside of work, I'm usually spending time with family, traveling, or planning wedding events.

I came to America in pursuit of a broader perspective. While at Harvard, I found a passion for economics and pursued my interest in photography. I wandered around campus and then Paris and then New York with a camera around my neck.

I met a guy at a bar who introduced me to Bridgewater, and spent the next two decades building what became the world’s largest hedge fund. There, I created investment solutions for the most sophisticated investors in the world, built our content generation system and an industry defining digital client experience. And lead both the Client Service & Marketing and Investment teams.

I was attracted to Switch's unique systematic process (like Bridgewater's), exceptional founders and partners, and joined Switch as a Venture Partner in 2021.

Outside of work I'm going on adventures with my wife and three kids, telling stories, looking at art and listening to music.

Halfway through my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, I discovered the startup world and quickly realized it was what I actually wanted to do with my life. With my friend Christian, we started Audm, an app that allowed you to listen to audiobook-style versions of articles from legacy publications like The New Yorker and The Atlantic. We sold to The New York Times in 2020.

We met Paul during YC. Switch came highly recommended by companies in earlier batches, so we were thrilled they led our seed round. Since then, Paul has become a trusted friend and confidant, so I'm happy to be officially working with Switch as a venture partner.

Outside of work, you can find me trying to keep up with my wife and two daughters, surfing, on the golf course, or playing tennis.
